Test jigs are essential tools used in the manufacturing and testing of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs). They are specially designed fixtures that allow engineers and technicians to conduct thorough electrical and functional tests on assembled boards before they move to the next production phase.
Custom test jigs are designed to test PCBAs during production using two methods:
1. In-Circuit Testing (ICT)
Provides access to test points and component pins through spring-loaded pins (pogo pins) that press against the PCB
2. Functional Testing (FCT)
Verifies that the assembled PCB behaves correctly under operational conditions (with power and signal simulation).
